Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 1, 2026

FarmPass ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly and information generated by your use of the platform:

  • Account information: name, email address, phone number, and profile photo when you sign up.
  • Booking data: activity bookings, dates, number of guests, and payment records.
  • Communications: messages you send via the contact form or customer support.
  • Usage data: pages visited, search queries, device type, browser, and IP address via standard server logs and analytics.
  • Location: coarse location (city/region) to show nearby farms. We never track precise GPS without explicit permission.

2. How we use your information

  • Process and confirm bookings, and send booking-related notifications.
  • Verify your identity and prevent fraud.
  • Respond to support requests and feedback.
  • Improve the platform — analyse usage patterns, fix bugs, and test new features.
  • Send transactional emails (receipts, reminders). We will only send marketing emails if you opt in.
  • Comply with applicable law, including Indian IT Act requirements.

3. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in these limited cases:

  • Farm operators: your name, contact, and booking details are shared with the farm you book, so they can prepare for your visit.
  • Payment processors: Razorpay receives payment data to process transactions. We do not store card numbers.
  • Service providers: infrastructure partners (Supabase for database, Vercel for hosting, Mapbox for maps) operate under data processing agreements.
  • Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

4. Data retention

We retain your account data while your account is active. Booking records are kept for 7 years to comply with Indian financial regulations. You can request deletion of your account and personal data at any time (see Section 7).

5. Cookies & tracking

We use essential cookies for session management and authentication. We use analytics cookies (anonymised) to understand platform usage. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings; this will not affect your ability to use the platform.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures: HTTPS for all data in transit, encrypted storage for sensitive fields, and role-based access controls. No system is 100% secure — if you suspect unauthorised access to your account, contact us immediately.

7. Your rights

Under applicable Indian data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and personal data.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@farmpass.in or use the contact form.

8. Children's privacy

FarmPass is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of FarmPass after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
